S.W.O.R.D. #5 Preview: Fabian Cortez is honestly incredible. He was introduced in X-Men #1, the best selling comic of all time, with an incredible ability. I believe it was former Comics Alliance writer David Wolkin who described him as a mutant with the ability to “make mutants mutant harder.” He teamed up with Magneto, on Magneto’s cool space base, and tried to control him like the sniveling little Starscream wanna be he is. He is trash garbage. But even trash garbage has a home on Krakoa.
In S.W.O.R.D. #5 we catch up with Cortez, moments after being resurrected. He had a run in with one of Knull’s minions but lucky for him, mutants take care of their own. He may not be popular enough to get a massive ceremony like some other, but he does get mutant yolk all over him. Anyway, the solicit for Al Ewing and Valerio Schiti’s next epic promises a murder mystery in space and a team up with Magneto. And hey, wherever Magneto goes, his very best friend in the whole world, Peepers, is sure to be close.
