Steve Orlando, Steve Niles and Steve Alex Paknadel are among the creators behind TKO Studios’ third wave of graphic novels, announced Thursday and available Nov. 9.
The following are solicits from the publisher:
THE PULL is a sci-fi epic that asks the ultimate question: What would you do if you only had six days left to live – give up or fight back? The creative team includes writer Steve Orlando (Wonder Woman), artist Ricardo Lopez Ortiz (Blank Panther vs. Deadpool), colorist Triona Farell (Black Widow) and letterer Thomas Mauer (Godkillers).
LONESOME DAYS, SAVAGE NIGHTS is a supernatural crime story about a private detective with one hell of a trick up his sleeve…and a monster under his skin. The book is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and Salvatore Simeone (co-founder of TKO), drawn by Szymon Kudranski (Fallen Angels) and lettered by Thomas Mauer.
REDFORK is a dark horror tale about an ex-con who returns to his hometown to find something sinister is draining the very life from it. The creative team includes writer Alex Paknadel (Giga), artist Nil Vendrell (Shirtless Bear-Fighter), colorist Giulia Brusco (Django Unchained) and letterer Ryan Ferrier (Kennel Block Blues).
TKO launched in 2018, eschewing the Diamond system in favor of offering books directly to readers and shops as floppies, trades or digital downloads. At the top of the food chain are Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Girner, a longtime Marvel and Image editor and the writer of comics like “Shirtless Bear-Fighter” and “Scales & Scoundrels,” and Publisher Tze Chun, a writer-director-producer whose credits include Fox’s “Gotham” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.”
The publisher’s catalog to date includes the war comic Sara by Garth Ennis and Steve Epting, Sentient by Jeff Lemire and Gabriel Walta, and Goodnight Paradise by Joshua Dysart and Alberto Ponticelli. Its 2019 book The Banks by Roxane Gay and Ming Doyle is reportedly being adapted for film.
Pre-orders for the three new books will be available Oct. 16 at tkopresents.com.
