It’s fair to say that Krakoan paradise hasn’t been all that for Quentin Quire. The onetime Kid Omega has been killed often, and in gruesome ways. For haters of the brat, it has been delightful. Watching an absolute trashcan of a person get decapitated never gets old. But Quire is bored of death, he desires something more. Something dangerous.
He’ll get it when Benjamin Percy teams up with Garry Brown, fresh off Scream: Curse of Carnage, to tell a tale of dreams in X-Force #19. Percy has promised that fans of Quire should expect big things in 2021, and it looks like it may all happen here as he battles nightmares. All this with an absolutely jaw-dropping cover from Marvel Stormbreaker Joshua Cassara, who has been stepping up his game every issue.
After a bit of a rocky start, X-Force has proven itself to be one of the biggest highlights of the Krakoan era, and we are sure Ben Percy has massive plans as we enter the Reign of X. It has combined dark twists and turns with thoughtful character moments in a deeply satisfying way. Here’s hoping Quire can escape these nightmares and get himself all spiffy for the Hellfire Gala. We hear it’s going to be a doozy.
