In 1997, Toy Biz released a line of action figures called “X-Men: Monster Armor” where the X-Men got cool Halloween costume looking snap-on accessories. This had no basis in any other piece of X-Men media, but that was the toy industry for you. I must assume Si Spurrier spent his life working to get a job at Marvel where he could rectify this canonical inconsistency in Legion Of X #9.
