In 1968, Rankin-Bass, the same animation company that gave the world Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The Year without a Santa Claus, released The Little Drummer Boy, a stop-motion special about a little boy who gets to play the drums at the birth of the baby Jesus (after a whole bunch of really messed up stuff happens first).
If you’re like me, I bet you’ve always wondered: What if that event triggered the Little Drummer Boy’s mutation and he grew two extra arms and a mad-on for “flatscans”?
Behold, the 2023 ComicsXF holiday card in all its glory!
Eat your heart out, Rob Liefeld.
Made with love by artist Kevin Newburn, this 5×7″ card depicts the Rankin-Bass Little Drummer Boy cosplaying as Forearm from the Mutant Liberation Front. And it could be yours!
How?
If you support ComicsXF on Patreon at the $5 tier and above any time during the month of December, we’ll send you this snazzy card as a way of saying thank you for helping us support all our great writers, editors and podcasters. Plus, you’ll get access to our monthly bonus podcast Our Son Pete and all our other great Patreon-exclusive features.
We hope this card warms your heart the way radicalization and wicked drum solos have warmed Forearm’s, and we thank you for your support.
