Marvel on Monday announced five Free Comic Book Day 2025 titles, some offering warm-ups to big summer storylines, some offering sampler platters of regular titles, and one advertising shows on Disney Jr.
Perhaps most relevant to this website’s interests, a Fantastic Four/Giant-Size X-Men book teases “the birth of the All-New, All-Different X-Men,” in a story written by the NYX “Hivemind” of Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly. Could this be the merging of Cyclops’ and Rogue’s teams after “Raid on Graymalkin,” or something much, MUCH else?
(It may be worth nothing the Giant-Size X-Men logo combines the 1970s style “Giant-Size” with a 2010-style “X-Men,” from the volume of the adjectiveless book that gave us “Curse of the Mutants.” Or that may just be a coincidence to throw everyone off the scent. WHO KNOWS?!)
There also will be a Ryan North-penned Fantastic Four story ahead of the release of the movie in July. And a Chip Zdarsky … something.
Other books will offer a Spider-Man story by Joe Kelly and John Romita Jr., an Ultimate Universe event prequel by Deniz Camp, Cody Ziglar and Jonas Scharf; Star Wars content; a new Ironheart story timed to the TV show debuting on Disney+; select stories from previous Marvel’s Voices anthologies, and a Disney Jr. two-fer pairing Spidey and His Amazing Friends and the new Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, in which a preschool-sized Hulk, apparently, also gets a mech suit.

Free Comic Book Day is on May 3 this year, and once again, Marvel Comics celebrates this exciting day for the industry with something for every fan! Readers can look forward to the entry points for all-new eras of Fantastic Four and Amazing Spider-Man, a prelude to an upcoming X-Men saga, and a glimpse at the very first event set in the new Ultimate Universe!
