The wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles have hit home for the comics community as well.
Writer David M. Booher, co-creator of the indie fantasy series Canto and known for other series like Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures, All-New Firefly and Killer Queens, has posted a GoFundMe after his home was destroyed in the Eaton Fire.
I haven’t posted on here, but we lost our home in the Eaton Fire. We’re safe & the dogs are safe. For anyone looking for a way to help, I've launched a GoFundMe. This will help replace my personal copies & inventory of my comics I've written. One step at a time. Love you all. ❤️ gofund.me/6cfafae7

On the GoFundMe page, Booher said he and his husband and their pet greyhounds are safe.
“Lots of folks have asked how they can help,” Booher wrote. “We have no idea what we might need at this point. We have insurance, but I’ll have to replace my personal copies and inventory of comics I’ve written. This will help with that.”
As of Thursday night, the campaign had raised more than $18,000, well over a goal of $5,000. The donor list of nearly 175 reads like a who’s who of comics talent and the surrounding community, including $1,000 donations from Steve Orlando and Marc Guggenheim.
CXF reached out to Booher for comment.
