As Logan’s first teen-girl mentee, Kitty Pryde and Wolverine used to be close. Not in a sexual way – it’s not like Logan was one of the girls in the mansion – but there was a brief period where they had sort of a Batman-and-Robin thing going.
Writer Chris Claremont is currently revisiting that period in a Wolverine and Kitty Pryde miniseries, set after the original Kitty Pryde and Wolverine miniseries from the 1980s, when the younger mutant was learning ninja stuff in Japan.
And we seem to be getting some of that old closeness here as well in Ultimate Wolverine, as Logan continues to transition out of his programming as the Winter Soldier.
And it leads us to wonder, when was the last time Kitty and Logan spent any quality time together in current 616 continuity? I remember them drinking together on Krakoa, early in Kitty’s pirate phase, which would have been about five years ago in publication time at this point.
There’s no reason Logan couldn’t pop into Chicago on what we assume to be his frequent jaunts between Louisiana and Canada (discounting any other guest appearances or his team-up books).
We realize you have a number of foster daughters these days, Logan – some of whom are your actual daughters – but your oldest could still use your grizzled wisdom every now and again.
