Austin’s pick: The Avengers in the Veracity Trap!: It starts with an epic battle in Asgard, as Loki, the god of mischief, comes into possession of a weapon of unimaginable power and assembles an army of otherworldly monsters in an effort to carry out his evil plans. Cue the Avengers, who meet this horrifying throng of beasts head-on as a knock-down drag-out fight ensues. But when the smoke clears, what appears to be a typically raucous comic book take-down is revealed to be something very, very different — and very, very terrifying. A graphic novel by Chip Kidd and Michael Cho for Abrams ComicArts. ($25.99) Buy it here.
Matt’s pick: Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #1: Cheetah and Cheshire assemble a team of misfits and oddballs to pull off the impossible — robbing the Justice League Watchtower. All that stands between them and pulling off the most daring heist in history are a few tiny complications, such as the most sophisticated orbital platform ever constructed, its AI-driven security system and the smartest and most powerful heroes in the DCU. Written by Greg Rucka and drawn by Nicola Scott. ($3.99) Buy it here.
Dan’s pick: Archie vs. Minor Threats #1: Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and friends are on their way to Twilight City when the magical meddling of Sabrina the Teenage Witch lands them in the seedy underbelly of Redport, the most villainous part of town controlled by Frankie Follis, aka Playtime. Scott’s pick: Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #1: Inhabitants of this new world know the Deadzone to be a walled-off portion of the Pacific Northwest, sequestered after the most disastrous Godzilla attack the country has ever faced. Parker and drawn by Pablo Tunica for IDW. ($4.99) Buy it here.
Jake’s pick: Captain America #2: Witness the rise of one of Marvel’s most infamous villains as Captain America comes face to face with Doctor Doom for the first time. Adam’s pick: Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell #3: The Daredevil project of the decade reaches its epic conclusion. As New York City goes dark, who will stand up with Daredevil? Will you? Written by Charles Soule and drawn by Steve McNiven. ($6.99) Buy it here.

Rasumus’ pick: One World Under Doom #6: Doom’s reign has been a success for months — with even some of the heroes questioning whether they’re on the right side. A final desperate gambit is conceived, and Reed reveals a terrible secret he’s acquired about Doom’s global domination. But will it be enough? And what has Doom been hiding under that Latverian Dome? Written by Ryan North and drawn by R.B. Silva. ($4.99) Buy it here.
