It’s an X-Man update in our EXCLUSIVE preview of Marvel’s Phoenix #14

In recent issues of Phoenix, Jean Grey sent out a wave of psychic energy to stop the Dark Gods from destroying the cosmos.

Y’know, Jean stuff.

In doing so, a portion of her power manifested as Sara Grey, her long-dead sister. Last month, Cable attempted to intervene to show Jean that her sister isn’t real and that her existence imperils the universe.

There’s precedent for this in the Summers-Grey bloodline.

When Nate Grey first came to our reality after the Age of Apocalypse, he created a psychic construct that appeared to be Madelyne Pryor but eventually was revealed to be an evil Jean Grey from an alternate reality who used the Maddie simulacrum to her own ends.

That’s right, folks. BEEP-BA-DEEP-BEEP-BEEP ba ba BEEP-BA-DEEP-BEEP-BEEP ba ba BEEP-BA-DEEP-BEEP-BEEP it’s an X-Man update!

(Sorry, Zack.)

Also, last issue there was a panel where Cable does the same shrug teen Jean did when she outed teen Iceman as gay. Check this out:

The apple never falls far from the tree that was a clone of another tree, eh?

A BATTLE TO SHAKE THE STARS! The PHOENIX is a force of life, energy and balance! Powerful, known and feared across the galaxy! And while Jean Grey IS the Phoenix, she is also a human being – so now that her sister Sara has returned to life, Jean’s humanity refuses to accept losing her again! Unfortunately, there are other forces operating in the cosmos – enormous, unstoppable, eternal forces – indifferent to the desires of a single woman. And even more unfortunately…they want Sara dead.
