So here’s a fun fact: Magik is a fairly decent seller for Marvel. According to ICv2’s sales tracking data, based on shops that use the ComicHub point-of-sale system, Magik #8 was the 23rd best selling comic of August. That also makes it the second-best selling X-office comic of August, after Uncanny X-Men #19.
Maybe it’s the J. Scott Campbell covers from early in the run. Maybe people just love the Chris Bachalo anime-girl design. Maybe she got a bump from being in video games like Midnight Suns and Marvel Rivals. Or hey, maybe people just really like the character, who stepped out from her brother Colossus’ shadow many years ago.
At any rate, congrats on the hit, Marvel. Series writer Ashley Allen doesn’t appear to have a role to play in this fall’s Age of Revelation, but hopefully both she and Illyana will have something to do once we return to the present in January.

TO THE BITTER END! To save her friend, can Illyana and Moonstar defeat an entire army of magic hunters? Or is Liminal still pulling her strings?
