BatChat With Matt & Will: The Fall of the House of Wayne

Batman and Talia with Damian is Grant Morrison's Batman finale

BatChat has been running now for four and a half years, which is pretty unbelievable. That is not quite as long as Grant Morrison’s seven-year run on the Bat titles, or as tempestuous as the last period of that run. This week, we do indeed arrive at the grand finale of that epic, the final arc of Morrison’s Batman Incorporated, as well as the next arcs of “No Man’s Land” and “Knightquest: The Crusade.” Expect discussions of AzBats’ mental health, exactly when Chuck Dixon went from kinda conservative to a right-wing crank and what might have been if the New 52 didn’t jam itself into the last third of the Morrison run.

  • Tally Man (Batman: Shadow of the Bat #19-20)
  • Escape to Blackgate (Nightwing V.2 #35-37)
  • Gotham’s Most Wanted (Batman Incorporated V.2 #7-13, Special #1)

This week’s BatChat column focuses on The Bat-Man: Second Knight #3.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of 5. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the podcasts BatChat with Matt & Will and The ComicsXF Interview Podcast.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
