Marvel on Friday teased DNX, an event series coming in September from X-Men writer Jed MacKay and X Deaths of Wolverine artist Federico Vicentini.
The teaser art by Vicentini appears to show Cyclops fighting either the evil Beast from the mutant revenge society 3K or a Yeti’d-up Wolverine; it’s hard to tell from the red tinge. Either way it’s a fair bet this will elevate the 3K plot MacKay has been building since he started his volume of X-Men in 2024.
For those unfamiliar, 3K is led by the evil Beast from the Krakoa era of X-Force and includes Charles Xavier’s evil womb twin Cassandra Nova, Brother of Evil Mutants castoff Astra, Magneto clone Joseph, Alpha Flight villain Wyre and their own group of fake X-Men. Part of their MO has been jumpstarting mutation in adults, such as Alaskan X-Men refugees Ben Liu and Jen Starkey, and more recently working on a virus that can spread that forced mutation globally. Last fall’s “Age of Revelation” event showed a world ravaged by that virus, allowing Apocalypse heir Doug Ramsey to turn Earth into his own living planet. It didn’t end well.
