Normally, as a true fan of The Big Lebowski, I hate the f*****g Eagles, man. Except in one instance: The 1985 soundtrack to the TV show Miami Vice.
Nevermind that it was my mom’s favorite show at the time, or that it popularized Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.” It also included two bangers from Eagles member gone solo Glenn Frey, “Smuggler’s Blues” and “You Belong to the City.”
The latter is the vibe the blurb for NYX #2 is giving, as Wolverine stalks the city, concrete under her feet, living in a river of darkness beneath the neon light. Guaranteed the Hivemind, Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, wrote this issue wearing pastel jackets and shoes with no socks, listening to Jan Hammer’s synth score from the show. I’ll leave you to consider which of them is Crockett and which is Tubbs.
And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, just ask your grandparents, I guess.
