Hot on the heels of the Abbott Elementary/It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover, Marvel has chosen to center the City of Brotherly Love in its latest linewide event.
Marvel on Wednesday revealed details about four more of the books that are part of Age of Revelation, the latest in a long tradition of dark X-futures, in which Doug Ramsey, the heir of Apocalypse known as Revelation, has remade the world in his image.
The publisher has shared details about nine books so far – Amazing X-Men, Binary, Laura Kinney: Sabretooth, Longshots, World of Revelation, Unbreakable X-Men, Rogue Storm, Sinister’s Six and Iron & Frost – with more announcements to come Thursday. Today’s batch are all set for publication Oct. 22.

Some things to note:
- Philadelphia is the capital of the Revelation Territories. The cover of Book of Revelation #1 appears to show crows. Go Birds, to be sure, but also, is Doug using Fight Milk to make his gains?
- Among the fists pumping with love for Doug on the cover of Book of Revelation are Sunspot and Laura Kinney in her Sabretooth persona.
- Fabian Cortez is also listed as a key player in Book of Revelation. We do love it when Fabez sucks up to a despot only to unsuccessfully betray him in a bid for more power.
- Is the “Ghost of Philadelphia” teased in Book of Revelation the ghost of Ben Franklin from Gerry Duggan’s Deadpool run?
- Spider-Man has multiple arms again, like that one time in the 1970s we all love.
- Omega Kids is not, as I surmised, a book about those three Omega Red clones from Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force, later used by Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo in Wolverine: Revenge.
- Writer Tony Fleecs (Marvel Swimsuit Special) joins the X-fold with Omega Kids.
- Sigh … another goddamn virus.
