New Jersey’s biggest comics convention is moving. Again!
Super Jersey Comic Expo announced Monday that its 2026 show will be held at Iron Peak Sports & Events in Hillsborough. Organizer Nuff Sed Events LLC signed the contract for the new venue Friday.
The dates remain the same: April 18 and 19, 2026.
The move happened after Super Jersey’s previous venue, The Dome at Adventure Crossing in Jackson Township, was threatened with foreclosure over an unpaid $14.4 million loan.
According to the Asbury Park Press, a lawsuit by lender WSFS claims Dome owner Vito Cardinale has failed to make payments on the mortgage since May 2024. The bank seeks foreclosure of the mortgage unless the full amount is paid.
In comments to the news outlet, Cardinale said state regulations have made it impossible to make timely payments on the loan.
This marks Super Jersey’s third venue since its first show. From 2021 to 2023, it was held at the Bell Works in Holmdel, Monmouth County. (The show originally was scheduled to debut in April 2020; take one guess what happened.) A last-minute move in 2023 by the Bell Works that required the show to be free sent organizers looking for a new home, hence the move to The Dome.
“For over six years we have been met with surprises around every single turn to the point where it almost feels like a prank on us as a convention,” show organizer Paul Brown told CXF. “From postponing our first event for over a year and a half due to COVID to being rug-pulled by our venue in 2023, after continuous communication and operational speed bumps we faced at our venue from 2025, now we had to worry about the venue even being permitted to host our show. We just weren’t willing to have a ‘what if’ around our venue, the one thing we shouldn’t have to worry about.”
Of the show’s new home, Brown said, “We are excited for this new chapter in the biggest and best Super Jersey to ever happen, with a venue that will meet our level of excitement and execution. We already feel a world better about the move, and the ink on the contract isn’t even dry yet.”
Organizers touted Iron Peak’s larger event space, as well as its climbing walls, rope course, arcade, golf simulators, concession stands, elevated Summit Bar, and free parking during the event for attendees and exhibitors.
(Guests no doubt will appreciate the event being held at another indoor sports complex, as the turf floor at The Dome was a big talking point during the 2025 show.)
In a news release announcing the move, Todd Reddington, events director of Iron Peak, said, “We’re incredibly excited to host this comic expo as it aligns perfectly with our core values of bringing together creativity, community, and fandom. Events like this transform our space into an immersive experience — not just a place to gather, but a place where fans can celebrate the stories, characters, and artists they love.”
Other than the new venue, the show’s hours, guests, schedule and pricing remain unchanged, organizers said.
In addition, Super Jersey will continue to donate a portion of the 2026 show’s proceeds to multiple sclerosis research, though it is looking for a new beneficiary, as the money originally was going to go to the Dome owner’s Cardinale International Research Institute. Cardinale’s wife, Linda, died of MS in 2013.
As of writing, the creator guest list for Super Jersey 2026 includes John Romita Jr., Todd Klein, Greg Weisman, Scott Hanna, Daniel Kalban, Jamal Igle, Keith Williams, Bob Sharen, Mark Morales, Laura Martin, Heather Antos, Fabian Nicieza, Phil Hester, Larry Hama, Reilly Brown, Ariel Olivetti and Adriana Melo. More guest announcements are expected.
