Sometimes, you can be an X-man for years and still get stuck in the classic blue/black and gold training uniform.
Take Dani Moonstar here. One of the original New Mutants, she’s still wearing a variation of her training costume-boots-belt look from 1982.
Consider, though, that Dani has had many more interesting looks. There’s her graduation costume, her Valkyrie armor, the red bad-girl getup she wore when she was undercover in the Mutant Liberation Front, her X-Force road-trip era look that was more like civilian clothes. Surely there’s a way to synthesize all of that to come up with something new that honors her history and the intersectionality of her mutant and Cheyenne heritage.
If only there were a team of artists whose whole job is redesigning X-Men …
