The Comics Bookcase is your friend that maybe tries too hard to get you into comics. All eyeballs and tongue and Jim Carrey-in-The Cable Guy enthusiasm, he (it?) really wants you to read these short stories that serve as metacommentary on the absurdities of the industry. Even after being chopped to pieces to drive home the idea that his joie de comics may not be shared.
So what better way to make it up to people than to return in a way that homages a 33-year-old superhero story that hasn’t been adapted into a major motion picture, a reference your non-comics-loving friends will definitely get?
If comics fans are guilty of anything, it’s that we care too much about these sorts of things.
Anyway, we’re glad our bud Zack Quaintance is coming back to Kickstarter with a second volume of his Death of Comics Bookcase anthology, and we’re honored to exclusively reveal this variant cover by artist Fell Hound (S.I.R., Commander Rao), featuring one of the anthology’s lovable characters, the sarcastic antihero wizard Goldmask.

Death of Comics Bookcase, Vol. 2 — Reign of the Comics Bookcases is a 48-page sci-fi comics romp through six unique worlds. It’s written by Zack Quaintance (Macabre Valley) with art by Nick Cagnetti (Archie, Pink Lemonade), John P. Golden (Adventure Time), Ryan Lee (Rick and Morty, Mountainhead), Luke Horsman (2000AD) and more.
