Jason Aaron’s run on Avengers started generations ago, looking at the legacy of the Avengers of 1,000,000 BC. We’ve seen Ghost Riders and Star Brands and now we get the most X-Relevant one. This fall, with Ed McGuinness and Javier Garrón by his side, we are going to “Enter The Phoenix”. But what could that mean?
? The Age of Khonshu is over. ? Enter the Phoenix.

Aaron has played with the cosmic force of death and rebirth often in his career. He gave Wolverine a Phoenix Gun in Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine. He co-wrote Avengers Vs X-Men. He made sure Quire got a part of it in his run on The Mighty Thor. At the end of the universe, a very old man Logan possessed it in his Thor. And in his Avengers we have met the Phoenix of 1,000,000 BC. Let’s just say the man has written his fair share of Phoenix stories.
The title seems to be a riff on the martial arts classic Enter The Dragon. Could this mean Iron Fist, of 1,000,000 BC or otherwise, will be part of this story? When we last saw the fire chicken, Jean Grey gave her the old “No More Phoenix” treatment, but it is a force of rebirth after all. What does this mean for the Dominion, the extra dimensional space machine gods who are afraid of The Phoenix from Powers Of X? Will any of this wild mass guessing be relevant? We will see this fall when Avengers comes out this fall.
