Who Is Major X?

There is a new X-Book coming from industry legend The Rob. It is about a character twenty-seven years in the making, and his name is Major X.

You can read more about him in the press release below, it has many an X-Pun and is filled with The Rob’s trademark enthusiasm. But we have decided to take the title of this press release to heart and give some options for who Major X is.

1. Ultimate Stryfe

Ultimate Stryfe is Stryfe but from the Ultimate Universe. He is friends with Onslaught for some reason and the Robert Kirkman era of that book is bad. Considering the Ultimate Cable is really Wolverine, and Wolverine is The Rob’s favorite character, I think this is a safe option for a guess. Also he has a red X on his face.

2. Emma Frost

Emma is a much-beloved character who was done dirty at the end of an event. Her place in the X-Universe isn’t known at the time. Could we be seeing her return to the books with the mantle of Major X? She sure is a major ex of one character in X-Men. Also, she has a red X on her face.

3. Cyclops

We know good ol‘ Laser Eye is coming back to shoot people with his heat vision of doom. He has even crawled out of his own grave to make it happen. Could The Rob be using the father of his best creation to add a new wrinkle to the Summer’s family tree? Also, he has a red X on his face.

4. Judge Dredd

The world of 2000AD is filled with mutants. One could call it a mutant utopia. Might it be the fabled X-istence? And could its’ most well-known protector be coming to the X-Men? He would sure fit The Rob’s style of burly, shooty men. Also, he has a red X on his face.

5. Racer X

Racer X is very fast and very mysterious. Astute fans might realize that Racer X is actually Rex Racer, Speed Racer’s lost brother who drives on “tortured roads and broken trails.” Could he be holding another secret? One about a lost X-istance? Also, he has a red white X on his face.

Only time will tell if any of these are right. Frankly I doubt it. But make sure to check out Major X in April and the full press release with details below.

Press Release

New York, NY—January 18, 2019 —Who is Major X? This April, the truth will be revealed in an all-new, six issue mini-series written by the creator who introduced the world to Deadpool, Cable and X-Force: industry legend Rob Liefeld!

“To me, the X-Men have always thrived on big ideas, crazy ideas,” Liefeld said in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Major Xintroduces a new character who is certain to mix up everything in the X-world. He hails from another existence, which is called the ‘X-istence’ — a mutant Shangri-La, a safe haven that has been a realm where mutant kind has lived in peace and harmony. They escaped there following a tragedy that befell mutant kind, and built this community…but then a terrible event happens within the X-istence that causes Major X to cross over and land in the Marvel Universe that we know.”

C.B. Cebulski, Editor-in-Chief of Marvel, said “I still remember when Rob made his Marvel debut, and the impact his art and storytelling had on comics. The energy and enthusiasm Rob brings to comics and every page he draws is still felt to this day, and it’s a joy to have him return to his roots with the X-Men. Rob may have started developing these X-ideas 30 years ago, but his story will leave an indelible mark on our modern mutants!”

The mystery of MAJOR X begins this April! For more information on the series, head to Marvel.com.
