We all love a Man-Thing. How many other Marvel character have a song written about them by The Mountain Goats? It’s not shocking in our organic, Krakoan era, Man-Thing would come in conflict with the mutants, but who could have predicted this?
Steve Orlando and Andrea Broccardo have been building to a crescendo in in Avengers: Curse Of The Man-Thing and Spider-Man: Curse Of The Man-Thing, and after an appearance by Magik in that last issue, X-Men: Curse Of The Man-Thing will close out the story of Harrower. You see Augusta from Hordeculture, the old science ladies who have been harassing Krakoa, she has a niece. That niece thinks her aunt’s gardening club just isn’t going far enough in reclaiming the Earth for plants and has decided to use magic to mess with Man-Thing and cause all sorts of problems.
For now at least, the X-Men live on Earth. It’s where their things are you see. So while the Quiet Council debates on what they should do about the physical threat, Captain Magik has taken charge of the mystical one. And she has a wild team to help her. These are the new Dark Riders, Magik, Marrow, Shark-Girl, Forearm, Mammomax and Wolf Cub. Their mission? Don’t let a magic plant lady use the giant-size powers of Man-Thing to take over the multiverse. Will they succeed? Find out next week. But till then check out our exclusive preview!
