According to Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s X-Men, Magneto is in a wheelchair suffering from “resurrection-linked degenerative sickness,” a new disease that so far seems to affect only him.
How, then, does he appear in this issue of Sentinels, seemingly at full strength, menacing both the team AND former traitorous hanger-on Fabian Cortez?
Is it possible Max sought out Cortez to boost his power, no longer content to sit on the sidelines while Cyclops and his away team have all the fun?
Maybe. But Magneto views Cortez as less than the dirt beneath his feet. He’s no Peeper, after all.
Is it possible this is Joseph, the de-aged Magneto clone for whom decapitation could not stop him from appearing in an arc of Steve Orlando’s Scarlet Witch?
Also maybe. Joseph has become one of those clones who won’t go away, like Stryfe, Hydra-Cap (excuse me, “Grant Rogers”) and Gabby Kinney.
Actually, scratch that last one. Where the hell is Gabby?
