The Legion of Monsters is Marvel’s take on the classic Universal Monsters, complete with their own vampire (Morbius), werewolf (Werewolf by Night), Gill-man (Manphibian), Frankenstein’s Monster (Frankenstein’s Monster), etc.
Skybound has been publishing licensed comics featuring the Universal Monsters since October 2023. So far, they’ve done Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, the Mummy and, starting next week, the Phantom of the Opera.
Which leads us to wonder.
Why do you keep putting off the Wolfman, Skybound?
Is it about waiting for the right creative team? The right pitch? The next werewolf movie to hit theaters? James Tynion IV to have time in his schedule to write five more books?
Or are you just scared of men who turn into dogs? Like, if I showed you a picture of Dog Man, would you pee your pants a little? I mean maybe you should; those books are a sales juggernaut.
But eventually, all those kids are going to grow up and need an edgy, adult version of the thing they love. And what says Adult Dog Man more than a Wolf Man?
Think about it.
