The Mortal Thor #7 makes us think about Kyle MacLachlan (PREVIEW)

Y’ever think about how Kyle MacLachlan played Mr. Hyde on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show?

Probably not; that show has been mostly erased from MCU canon. Like, if we got an Avengers: Doomsday teaser that said “Agents Leo Fitz and Gemma Simmons WILL RETURN,” you’d probably spend a good 30 seconds being like, “Who?” before finally giving up and googling.

But MacLachlan’s Hyde, the father of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Daisy “Quake” Johnson, was a major villain in the early run of the show. He’d have made a great addition to the Thunderbolts, if that movie had been made 10 years earlier. Although who the heck would have ended up on the team then? Fellow season one S.H.I.E.L.D. villain the Absorbing Man? Batroc? Whiplash? The Abomination? Graviton? Deathlok? And they’re all bankrolled by Justin Hammer?

Oh, dammit, I just sold myself on this. A bad 90-minute movie starring Sam Rockwell and Kyle MacLachlan is still a 90-minute movie starring Sam Rockwell and Kyle MacLachlan.
