This has been a week filled with revelations about Laura Kinney. After HUNT FOR WOLVERINE: ADIMANTIUM AGENDA #4 revealed a secret truth about her parentage, X-23 co-creator Craig Kyle shares some of his plans for the character.
Hey Noah, we never explored any LGBT storylines in XME, but if #X23 / #laurakinney’s story was still mine to tell, I would reveal that she is gay. I’m not sure if that helps, but you are one of the few to know the truth about Laura’s sexual orientation.

I would like to tell this story in the comics or in her solo feature. It has always felt like a natural part of her journey of self discovery.

Kyle created X-23 for the X-MEN: EVOLUTION animated series and wrote her in comics for several years. His interpretation of the one-time Wolverine would be interesting to see, however he has not written a comic for Marvel since 2014. This is yet another case of an X-Man being interpreted as queer by their original creator but not shown on panel as such. It is likely that Marvel has moved in a different direction with Laura, however this would have been an exciting oppropportunity to add diversity to a franchise that has often been used as a metaphor for oppressed groups.
