Peter Milligan Teases His Return To X-Statix

Writer Peter Milligan and artist Mike Allred reinvented X-Force in 2001 with a run that was later renamed as, and always referred to as, X-STATIX. This was a biting examination of the reality show culture of the world of the early 2000s and is still shockingly relevant today. It was notable for being the comic that killed the Comics Code Authority at Marvel, and it celebrated that by viciously killing its’ characters. Milligan has returned to writing the team once before in 2014s ALL-NEW DOOP, and it seems he may be coming back again.

Milligan tweeted this morning that he has written dialogue for Edie Sawyer, the X-Statix character known as U-Go Girl. Edie died in the classic X-FORCE #128 but was seen relaxing in a hot tube between the margins of all comic books in ALL-NEW DOOP. Could this mean a much-needed revival of the beloved X-STATIX? I hope so, but I’ll settle for Milligan writing his most beloved creations in a time where they are even more relevant.

UPDATE 10:06 AM

It looks like back in June original artist Mike Allred got in on the action teasing a new X-STATIX project.

Milligan did nothing to refute the rumors.

Thanks to @OOH_JIM on Twitter for this new piece of the puzzle. Guys, X-STATIX is coming back (maybe)!
