Dan’s pick: Metamorpho the Element Man #1: To know him is to love him — that fab freak who can change himself into any element in the human body! He’s the one and only Rex Mason, alias Metamorpho, but can even he win out against Cy.C.L.O.P.S., the hairy eyeball of crime that gazes from the top of the pop charts to the lowest depths of evil — and even into the far-off, far-out Ra-Realm? Written by Al Ewing and drawn by Steve Lieber. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Scott’s pick: Justice League Unlimited #2: As the Justice League grapples with the ramifications of the Atom Project, a strange alert brings the team to the jungles of South America, and a horrific discovery. Can the League save a village from total slaughter? Plus, the mystery of the Darkseid heir deepens, and dissension in the ranks forces Batman’s hand. Written by Mark Waid and drawn by Dan Mora. ($3.99) Previously, in in JLU … | Buy it here.

Jake’s pick: Absolute Wonder Woman #3: A Harbinger is but a messenger. It is The Tetracide that you must fear, for The Tetracide leaves nothing behind. Tony’s pick: Exceptional X-Men #4: Lo, the Iceman cometh! But Kitty Pryde suspects her old comrade Bobby Drake isn’t being entirely honest with her. ($3.99) Previously, in Exceptional X-Men … | Buy it here.

Adam’s pick: Violator #4: Kids love chains. This is the monster who fights the chain man. Therefore, by the transitive property, kids love the monster who fights the chain man. Give Todd McFarlane all the money. Written by Marc Andreyko and drawn by Gianenrico Bonacorsi for Image. ($5.99) Buy it here.

Austin’s pick: X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 10: God Loves, Man Kills: Y’know when a straw man asks, “Where should I start with X-Men?” Maybe hand them this book, which is pretty much all bangers, no klangers. Collecting Uncanny X-Men #168-175 (that’s the Paul Smith run, y’all), X-Men Annual #7, X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills, Wolverine #1-4 and material from The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (1983). ($44.99) One of these stories is #5 on Battle of the Atom’s Big Ol’ List. | Buy it here.

Matt’s pick: I Heart Skullcrusher Vol. 1 TP: Trini will do anything to compete in her favorite sport, Screaming Pain Ball, alongside her longtime hero Skull-Crusher,  and a gaggle of misfits is just what she needs to cross the American wastes and battle in Queen Mob’s deadly tournament.
