Scott’s pick: Star Trek #28: Lore has destroyed the multiverse, and its fate now lies in Benjamin Sisko’s hands. But after the USS Theseus slingshots into the Celestial Temple, Sisko finds himself without his crew — or any technology — on Bronze-age Bajor. The ancient Bajorans don’t know what to make of him: Is he a terrifying threat or the prophet they’ve been waiting for? Mark’s pick: Usagi Yojimbo: The Crow TP: Finally making it out of the frozen mountains, Usagi and Yukichi come across a merchant being attacked by four brigands. They rescue the supposed merchant only to discover much later that he is really a criminal with a huge bounty on his head. Of course, wherever there is a huge reward you will find bounty hunters Gen and Stray Dog, and other unscrupulous trackers. By Stan Sakai for Dark Horse. ($24.99) Buy it here.
Matt’s pick: Fortune & Glory: The Musical: In the midst of the success of Brian Michael Bendis’ character-defining run on Ultimate Spider-Man, and the box office record-breaking Spider-Man films, the writer received a phone call that no one could have predicted. Spidey was going to Broadway, and Bendis was being tapped to collaborate with rock royalty to help the webslinger “find his voice” on stage. Could he overcome his own ignorance about musicals, or would he exit stage left before production began? Written by Bendis and illustrated by Bill Walko for Dark Horse. Dan’s pick: Mr. Muffins: Defender of the Stars: Eleven-year-old Reuben Mahmoud just wants a break. When he takes his pet corgi, Mr. Muffins, to the park, he expects to get just that. But what he gets instead is an alien invasion right smack dab in the middle of his neighborhood. Oh, and apparently Mr. Muffins is the chosen one destined to save the galaxy.
