Matt’s pick: DC Power: Rise of the Power Company #1: The Justice League watchtower is intended to inspire hope and faith in superheroes, but not everyone believes metahumans act in humanity’s best interests. The fringe belief that “Waller was right” has grown louder as paramilitary groups take to the streets to take Earth back for the human race. Enter Josiah Power, a meta-attorney who’s seen enough of rising hate and sets out to assemble a team not only to protect Black and brown communities from these new threats but to rebuild human faith in heroes. Written by Brandon Thomas, Vita Ayala, John Jennings and Zipporah Smith, and drawn by Ray-Anthony Height, Caanan White, Kelsey Ramsay and Charles Stewart III. ($5.99) Listen to Ayala talk about the book on The ComicsXF Interview Podcast. | Buy it here.

Tony’s pick: Turtles of Grayskull #3: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and He-Man travel to one another’s universes in the hopes of untangling the Knot in the cosmos. But despite plans to avoid jumbling realities, they find themselves drawn to each other’s friends and allies. Meanwhile, timestress Renet has found herself in the past — smack-dab in the middle of the Foot Clan’s training dojo — where a mysterious student may have something to do with all this trouble. Written by Tim Seeley and drawn by Freddie Williams II for Dark Horse. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Scott’s pick: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6: The Turtles are back together, on the run and at one another’s throats. Navigating a New York City that used to be their home but is now a hostile territory, the four brothers try to get things back to normal, but Donatello is deeply scarred following his captivity. Will the four brothers be able to rally? Or will they find themselves at the mercy of the Foot Clan? Written by Jason Aaron and drawn by new ongoing artist Juan Ferreyra for IDW. ($4.99) Check out an interview with Ferreyra at New York Comic Con. | Buy it here.

Austin’s pick: X-Men #10: In the wake of the raid on Graymalkin, the X-Men are fugitives, and O*N*E knows exactly where to find them. Heavily armed Shrike squads are en route to the Factory to serve warrants and lock up the X-Men, and it won’t be long until the X-Men find themselves right back in Graymalkin. Unless. Written by Jed MacKay and drawn by Netho Diaz. ($4.99) Buy it here.

Rasmus’ pick: Ice Cream Man #43: A collection of one-page horror stories drawn by Martin Morazzo and written by W. Maxwell Prince, Grant Morrison, Patton Oswalt, Geoff Johns, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Jeff Lemire, Matt Fraction, Zoe Thorogood and more for Image. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Jake’s pick: Into the Unbeing Vol. 1 TP: A group of climate scientists working in a remote base camp in the Australian outback discover an impossible landform. The expedition discovers a massive, entirely novel, giant holobiont that threatens to upend everything they understand about the natural world. Propelled by hubris and the intoxicating charm of forbidden knowledge, the research team descends into a hostile alien environment allowed to thrive without human interference. As the team pushes deeper, can they survive long enough to find what they’re looking for? Collecting the first four issues of the Dark Horse series by Zac Thompson and Hayden Sherman. ($19.99) Buy it here.

Dan’s pick: The Power Fantasy Vol. 1 TP: “Superpowered.” You have certain preconceptions. They’re incorrect. Here, that word has a specific technical definition. Namely, “any individual with the destructive capacity of the nuclear arsenal of the USA.” There are six such people on Earth. The planet’s survival relies on them never coming into conflict. Collecting the first five issues of the Image Comics series by Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijngaard. ($9.99)
