Thinking about a school for mutants in our EXCLUSIVE preview of Uncanny X-Men #16

We’ve gotten a lot of new mutants (lowercase) in this first year of From the Ashes. Do you think they’ll ever meet?

There’s room for story in throwing together three groups of young mutants raised by different mutant teachers: Rogue and Gambit’s Outliers, Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost’s Exceptional students and Cyclops’ Alaskan misfits. Maybe they can all exchange awkward glances and nervous conversation at the Hellfire Vigil. Pretty soon they’ll be exchanging text messages, playing Fortnite together, bugging Illyana to teleport them to group hangs at a mall that’s not infested with robo-doggy Sentinels.

But what happens when they all want to go to school together? Some kind of school for mutants?

Nah, that’s a crazy idea. It’d never work.
