People love when heroes fight dark-mirror versions of themselves, right? Bizarro. Shadow the Hedgehog. Nega Scott Pilgrim.
Twisted, demonic versions of the X-Men are an easy way to get there, but after 63 years, there also are plenty of pre-existing dark versions of the characters to go around, many of whom have Marvel Legends action figures.
Wolverine and Gambit both have been Horsemen of Apocalypse (and one is currently on the cartoon). An evil version of Beast is ramping up to be the big bad of the next X-event. Psylocke spent nearly 30 years with another woman piloting her body. Nightcrawler used to belong to a whole lineage of demon people before his continuity got fixed. Magneto … um … Xorn.
My point is, if we’re doing demonic X-Men, there are plenty to go around.
