Check out this EXCLUSIVE Joshua Swaby Psylocke variant cover reveal for September’s X-Men #22

Set aside the whole body swap thing for a second. You wanna know how we know Psylocke’s come a long way?

In late 1992/early 1993, Marvel published a three-issue story in X-Men in which the team went to Siberia for Colossus family/Omega Red stuff, and Psylocke (then Betsy Braddock in Kwannon’s body) is depicted on Andy Kubert’s covers as wearing only Jim Lee’s famous purple bathing suit with boots and assorted leg and arm bands.

“But Dan,” you might say, “unstable molecules are insulated. Reed Richards said so in [insert issue of Fantastic Four from the ’90s that justifies Sue’s 4-shaped boob window outfit],” to which I reply, “Shut up, nerd.”

Now? Psylocke (Kwannon) lives in Alaska and actually dresses appropriately, with a jacket and everything.

Nuts, right?
