Wolverine: Black, White & Blood: Coming This November

Look, I get it. People who read a site that started by ranking every X-Men character from best to worst probably think Wolverine is overrated. In fact, I’m sure someone has already made some joke they think is original about how this isn’t Laura, the real Wolverine. Cool, you’re better than the rest of us. But don’t forget, people actually like Lucky Jim Howlett and buy stories about him. So today, as announced on Marvel.com, we know there will be another Logan centric book coming this November with Wolverine: Black, White & Blood.

Adam Kubert

This is an anthology series following different Marvel creators as they tell tales about Wolverine throughout time. The line art will be a focus, with splashes of red being the only hue in it. Some will point to DC’s current Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red as a comparison point without remembering that

  1. That series is itself a call back to Batman: Black and White from the 90s
  2. Comics have a long gestation period and sometimes similar things just kinda happen
Declan Shalvey

If anything, this feels akin to things like Marvel Comics Presents mixed with Savage Wolverine, Logan centered anthology tales with a big art focus. The first issue features a Weapon X era Gerry Duggan and Adam Kubert tale, a Matthew Rosenburg and Joshua Cassara spy caper, and a Declan Shalvey jacket era story. Upcoming creators include Vita Ayala, Chris Claremont, Saladin Ahmed, Donny Cates, Ed Brisson, Kelly Thompson, Greg Land, Salvador Larroca, Kev Walker, Chris Bachalo, and Leonard Kirk, which sounds pretty choice. Anyway, here’s all the dope art they shared. It is pretty.
