BatChat With Matt & Will: Who Spoils the Spoiler?

Spoiler Banner

Having multiple heroic identities is not something unique in the Bat family. Pretty much everyone has had more than one except for, well, Bruce Wayne. But Stephanie Brown has had three very distinct identities that all very much signify different things about the character. And as we have covered some of the worst stories about her, we only thought it fair to cover some better ones. So this week, we’re reading the first appearance of Spoiler, one of Steph’s few run-ins with a major villain as Robin, and her debut as Batgirl.

  • Inquiring Minds (Detective Comics V.1 #647-649)
  • … And Red All Over (Detective Comics V.1 #796)
  • Batgirl Rising: Point of New Origin (Batgirl V.3 #1-3)

In this week’s BatChat column, we read Detective Comics #1,084, Batman: Dark Age #2 and Batman: Off-World #4.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
