Adam’s pick: Seven Wives #1: At 9:04 a.m. April 17, two police detectives are dispatched to investigate a death at a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints compound in Arizona. Matthew Dunn, the patriarch of the Dunn family, has been found stabbed on the pulpit of his temple, basking in the blood-soaked gaze of his savior. Detectives Aguilar and Halwell begin the arduous task of questioning each of Matthew’s seven wives and quickly encounter a brick wall of memorized Scripture, canned platitudes and locked lips. Dan’s pick: Babylon Cove #1: Heather is a no-nonsense career gal who returns to her picturesque New England hometown for the first time in a decade to attend a family funeral. Dennis is the all-American dreamboat who broke Heather’s heart in high school. Charlie is the late-blooming shy boy whom Heather never gave the time of day. And Karthon is the ancient demon with plans to feast on the flesh of everyone in town. If you ever wondered what would happen if Stephen King wrote a Hallmark holiday movie, welcome to Babylon Cove. Scott’s pick: Neighborhood Watch #2: Val and Bianca split up to investigate their separate communities to figure out who might have shot their friend. Austin’s pick: Star Wars Legends — Legacy Omnibus Vol. 1 HC: A new evil has arisen, shattering a resurgent Empire and seeking to put an end to the Jedi. The Sith Lord Darth Krayt sits on the throne. Only one hope remains: the last remaining heir to the Skywalker legacy. Cade Skywalker may be strong in the Force, but years after a tragedy, he is a bounty hunter working with Jariah Syn and Deliah Blue.
