“No one will be more angry that we’ve taken the MLF prisoner … than the X-Men.”

Really, Cable? The X-Men don’t take prisoners? Cyclops specifically would be upset about the idea of a mutant team taking prisoners? Let’s roll back the tape.
Our beloved Krakoa had a living carceral system called The Pit that held Sabretooth and a bunch of other mutants that didn’t really belong there. Pretty sure Temper reminds Scott about it every day at the Factory.
Utopia – which Scott led, btw – had an X-brig that held, among others, Legion, Donald Pierce and Sebastian Shaw. Oh, and Magik, another of Scott’s current co-workers.
Prior to Utopia, the California X-Men held prisoners in Cell Block X, including Pierce.
How about all that time in the ’90s when Sabretooth was living in the Danger Room?
How about the Danger Room itself, which turned about to be sentient software whose cries for help Charles Xavier ignored?
How about Beast’s secret space prison during Krakoa?
How about when X-Factor locked up X-Force during the “X-Cutioner’s Song”?
How about when Excalibur kept the Acolyte Spoor captive on Muir Island around the same time the X-Men held Sabretooth, doing the same futile rehabilitation bit?
How about how Muir Island also served as a lockup for a time for Moira MacTaggert’s son Proteus when he couldn’t control his powers, along with the infantilized Magneto?
Heck, how about the fact that the Louisiana X-Men JUST overthrew a mutant prison, and new warden Monet St. Croix STILL hasn’t let all the inmates go yet?!
Long story short, X-teams take prisoners all the time, and there are very few mutants who can get upset about it without sounding like hypocrites. Scott, who previously sanctioned an X-Force, does not get to play that card.
