No, that is not Nick Fury.
That is Devil-Hunter Gabriel, a 1970s Marvel horror character created by Doug Moench and Billy Graham who sometimes does stuff with Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan. And one time he exorcised a demon from Franklin Richards.
Writer Gail Simone has been playing with classic horror tropes nearly since the start of her Uncanny run. She did a classic Universal Monsters story, an asylum horror story, a Southern gothic horror, a teen slasher and most recently an alien invasion. Now, it’s time for a good old-fashioned exorcism.
Y’see, Gambit’s been acting kinda weird lately, ever since he took the evil Eye of Agamotto from a dragon way back in issue #1. There’s a hunger inside him, growing stronger every day. He almost ate one of his cats once. And he’s started biting Rogue in bed. But not in a fun, consensual way. Also last issue he turned into a dragon man and demanded to be called Wyvern, and sorry, but we have to draw the line at things that can be turned into Marvel Rivals skins.
Can this deep-pull character who, again, we must stress, is not Nick Fury pull the evil out of Remy so he can go back to being the best dad to the Outliers and not eat cats? Fingers crossed.
