Remember how Dani Moonstar’s parents got turned into the Demon Bear, as revealed in the titular and seminal “Demon Bear” story which introduced Bill Sienkiewicz to the New Mutants in New Mutants #18-20? And how it was never really made clear WHO turned them into a massive demonic bear, until a response to a letter in the letter column a few issues later pinned it on the Adversary, the evil spirit being who bedeviled Forge and would later “kill” the X-Men in “Fall of the Mutants?” Can anyone think of a more extreme example of plotting-by-letter-column?
Anyways, Dani’s parents are in mystical trouble again as they’re being used as bargaining chips by Kyron. No word yet on if it involves them becoming any kind of giant animal.
