Rasmus’ pick: The Deadman #1: In the millisecond following his murder, the soul of shifty circus aerialist Boston Brand was commandeered by the goddess Rama Kushna, who deputized the erstwhile performer’s ghost with a sacred spectral assignment: Custodian of All Souls! Now, Brand floats — begrudgingly — through this bluegreen purgatory we call Earth, upholding the Laws of Spiritual Math and protecting humanity from evil — even if they can’t see or hear him. By W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Matt’s pick: Justice League: Dream Girls — A DC Pride Event #1: Dreamer and Galaxy awaken on the island of Themyscira, living their best lives as princess and champion of the Amazons. But wait — weren’t they just having a blowout friendship fight on the Watchtower, right in front of half the League? And who’s this mysterious man that just washed up on their shores, insisting Dreamer leave paradise with him to save the world? And why does this heroic origin story and its increasingly strange and shifting landscape feel both familiar and wrong all at once? Written by Nicole Maines and Jadzia Axelrod and drawn by Nicola Scott, J. Bone, Ted Brandt and Ro Stein, with a Batwoman backup by Greg Rucka and Claire Roe. ($4.99) Buy it here.

Dan’s pick: Junk Punch #1: In a near-future world, peculiar new compulsions have arisen to afflict individuals in bizarre ways, such as a need to paint all pigeons pink or the unfortunate craving to tell the truth on dating apps. One such individual is Clara Castanelle, who “suffers” an addiction to punching people square in their junk. Written by Paul Tobin and drawn by Carlos Olivares for Mad Cave Studios, with a backup by Tobin and Colleen Coover. ($4.99) Buy it here.

Austin’s pick: Cyclops #5: With Cyclops still blinded, Mei captured and Pierce with a highly powerful metal in his possession, how will our heroes carry on? Will they be able to take down Pierce and his Reavers, or will evil win in the end? Written by Alex Paknadel and drawn by Roge Antonio. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Adam’s pick: Harley & Ivy — Life & Crimes #6: Harley and Ivy are getting a whole lot closer, but wait, what’s this?! Clayface has joined the party, and literally nobody invited him. Has anyone pointed out that he’s the color of poop and not clay? What’s up with that? By Erica Henderson. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Tony’s pick: Fantastic Four #12: Aliens have invaded Earth and been rebuffed by the Fantastic Four many a time before, and finally, one of them got wise and invaded Earth where the FF couldn’t defend it: They’re attacking our world in the past, in Ancient Rome. Johnny and Reed are the only two who make it back in time before all of history is erased, but it’s OK! As long as they can defend Earth, push the aliens back AND reset history to how it once was, everything should be fine, right? Written by Ryan North and drawn by Pat Boutin. ($4.99) Buy it here.

Scott’s pick: Batgirl #20: A murder in Gotham’s streets leads Batgirl to a crime scene with no discernible clues — only the words “Forget-Me-Not.” As the investigation unravels, Cassandra Cain discovers disturbing gaps in her own memory. With no leading suspect to fight and no answers on the streets, she must go inward to find the truth. Written by Tate Brombal and drawn by Stephen Segovia. ($3.99) Buy it here.

Uncanny X-Men #29: Haven House has a powerful and unexpected set of houseguests, and the Louisiana X-Men are not feeling very hospitable. All this, plus a death at Graymalkin Prison causes violent chaos for guards and inmates alike. Written by Gail Simone and drawn by Luciano Vecchio.
